The first time I met Rich was after moving into my new office, a little under a year ago. We would often chat about our mutual love for all things Film, Sci-fi and Music so when he asked me to photograph his wedding I knew it would be fun to document. Jess and Rich had chosen the Orsett Hall Hotel in the Essex countryside as the venue for the big day. For their engagement shoot we wandered the streets of Bishopsgate.
On the day of the wedding I turned up early to get some images of Jess and her bridesmaids getting ready. The party was in full swing and even having to change rooms couldn’t put a dampener on the mood. Leaving ‘Team bride’ I went down to the Chapel to meet up with Rich and the rest of the wedding party. Patiently waiting, Rich seemed calm and collected. It wasn’t long before the registrar asked for everyone to stand and the bride was played in by electric guitar.
After the ceremony and taking the newlyweds off for some photos, we sat down to eat, which was followed by the speeches. I love the speeches. Its always a time when you can get great images of different emotions. The speeches were finished with a shot of Tequila for all of Team Bride.
Soon the evening guests arrived and the reception room was cleared to make way for the dance floor. The cake was cut, the bouquet was thrown and it was time for the first dance to the sound of Elvin Bishop and ‘Fooled Around and Fell in Love'. It wasn’t long till everyone joined them on the dance floor.
